Anja Giele

Anja is a German-Taiwanese director whose work is shaped by an international perspective on people, culture, and storytelling. Having grown up between Taiwan, Germany, and the United States, she developed an early sensitivity to different identities and ways of seeing the world—an influence that continues to shape her filmmaking today.

Currently studying Directing for Advertising at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, Anja combines a strong visual sensibility with a deep interest in character-driven narratives. In 2025, she was awarded the DWP Best Newcomer Award, recognizing her work as an emerging talent in the creative industry. Her work is rooted in authenticity, with a particular focus on casting, production design, and stories that resonate on an emotional level.

Alongside filmmaking, Anja is passionate about writing and exploring more sustainable, people-centered ways of working within the creative industries. She sees every project as an opportunity to build meaningful connections, explore new perspectives, and create work that leaves a lasting impression.
