Casey Lugada

Casey is a Ugandan-born Film Director, DoP and Editor. Similar to just about every other creative to ever exist, his passion for everything film & movies, started at a very early age. Just about the only thing that sets him apart when it comes to this is the fact that he’s left-handed.
Inspired by his mother growing up, Casey pursued and was selected for a year-long Pan-African film program, specialising in long-form narrative film directing. He was the Co-Director of the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Award (AMVCA) winning, 60min. feature film, “PROMISES”. At the time, becoming the youngest ever credited Directoral win in the awards history at the age of 19.
After pursuing tertiary studies in Film & Television Directing, at the Hochschule Macromedia in Cologne, Casey discovered a deeply newfound passion for commercial directing.
With a background in narrative storytelling and a passion for short-form-content, Casey aims to create commercial work that bridges these two worlds. Focusing on the (somewhat) underutilisation of dialogue and narrative structures within the commercial world, Casey strives to create work that is respecting and resonant with audiences that have recently come to be classified only as: “having short attention spans”.
AKA: the young folk.
